  How do you fell when you look back at your time as a JW ??

  I totally agree with you! Yes, it WAS all that bad. Just try being a 4th and convince some others that it was really really bad. They don't understand. Everyone in my entire life for generations were in and pressured me through talking about others spiritual failures to stay in and do more more more. I'm with ya. I'm a 4th and kids used to be 5th. Now the JW family are down to 3 generations and don't even know it. I'm faking it with them. I think that faking enjoying sex is so much easier that this. It's the PITS!

  Angry and wasteful. I was doing what I hated for so long that I had talked myself into loving it and practicing tough love on myself: angry determined to be good face.

  however, i have friends outside of my local territory that i hang with.

  You're not supposed to talk regularly with anyone of the opposite sex, outside your family, if you aren't intending on dating and possibly marrying the person. And if you're dating, you had better have marriage on your mind and on the calendar. They take it waaaaay to seriously. Simple friendships are impossible in their eyes as per the YPA book.

  Got any advice for raising children?

  i'd like to raise my child to not be stressed out about holidays and flag salutes etc.

  i have bad memories of that sh*t from my childhood.

  I would tell them that any JW holiday rules that they don't want to follow can be broken at your house and you will never ever tell the JW family.

  november....usually no snow and no heat, and it's dark.

  march.......that's when you get more snow storms and the winter just won't go away...... .

  What?! March is the START of your spring time?! I was just there on the 15th and it was 85 degrees with the sun almost straight up in the sky breathing fire on everything. I LOVED IT!!!! I would say that March is the first of summer for you, unless I have a very twisted view of just what constitutes a Florida spring and summer. You have two seasons there, right? Spring and summer. Fall and winter don't exist. Right?

  Thank you for making it so much easier to decide that I'm NEVER moving to England. It's just cold all of the time there. Your warm is my cold. In a couple of years, I'm moving to southern Florida tropics.

  What Careers, Opportunities Did you Have to Sacrifice - to be a Witness ?

  i know this may be an annoying subject .

  but if you did have to give up doing what you wanted in a career or opportunity - what was it ?

  how controlling was the organization over you, and were you counseled by elders or higher ups to not pursue certain jobs, opportunities, college , etc - so that you stayed in the witnesses for awhile ; not doing what you wanted?

  I gave up the prospect of ever going to college. I used to think that I was too stupid to be successful, so that helped me to avoid it. I secretly and unkown to me longed for it, though. Now I have it:)

  at my age i didn't want to spend the next 4-10 years going to college classes after work.

  i have mentioned this in a few popsts but wanted to share this on a new thread so that everyone can find out how easy and cheap it can be to go to college.. i am studying online with cuny (city university of ny).

  tuition is $2165 per semester if you take 4 or more classes.

  This sounds great. I'm so glad you are doing something to get ahead after the cult. I started college at age 30 and had to re-do high school in the beginning. I'm finally graduating in May and will be in a Masters program in the fall for two years. It will take all together 11 years to finish if I don't go for a Ph.D. What are you studying and doing with your degree? This is just wonderful!

  after laylas' : do you think looks are important thread, thought this would be a good follow up.. personally i'm just a regular girl, nothing exception, got good teeth, i do love my hair and don't think i'm ugly, but know that i'm no stunner either .
